At our core, we are driven by a vision that transcends traditional academia. We believe that education should not exist in isolation from the world around us. Instead, it should be a dynamic process that integrates rigorous research, real-world engagement, and a commitment to addressing the complex challenges of our time.

Our consortium is united by the belief that pure academism, divorced from the realities of society, is outdated. We view teaching as a collaborative journey, where students are treated as junior peers, actively engaged in the learning process rather than passive recipients of knowledge. Through this approach, we aim to cultivate an intellectual and innovative community capable of confronting the multifaceted issues facing Southeast Europe (SEE) and beyond.

Central to our mission is the recognition of the urgent need to address climate change and embrace digital transition. We advocate for a democratized digital trade market and energy sector, extending across Southeast Europe, including both EU and aspiring EU countries. However, we also acknowledge the potential challenges, such as social disparities arising from labor automation and the risk of SEE becoming a low-skilled labor “backyard” of Europe.

In response to these challenges, our project focuses on three key pillars:

  1. Promoting Integrated Teaching and Research: We advocate for a teaching approach that incorporates hands-on research into the learning process. Through workshops and mobile “mini hubs,” we explore the intersection of technological development, economics, and social policies, resulting in policy-centered educational solutions.

  2. Aligning with Post-Covid Resilience Strategies: We integrate post-Covid resilience strategies into our teaching processes, aligning with digitalization, climate crisis response, and digital democracy. Our interdisciplinary courses bridge social sciences, humanities, economics, technology, and policy, preparing students for the socio-economic transformations of the region and continent.

  3. Fostering Interdisciplinary Collaboration: We aim to deepen interdisciplinary collaboration between social sciences, humanities, and STEM fields. By intertwining research with teaching, we develop a model curriculum that prepares students for a globally competitive economy while advocating for data-driven policy solutions.

As an Erasmus-supported initiative under the KA2 HED Action, our consortium is led by the Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities-Skopje, with partners including Panteion University-Athens, FMK at Singidunum University-Belgrade, and Sofia University “Kliment Ohridski.” Together, we are committed to advancing innovation-driven education and fostering critical dialogue on the policy aspects of research-centered learning in the era of twin transition.

Join us as we embark on this transformative journey to shape the future of education in Southeast Europe and beyond.
